정혜정의 〈액체 몸체〉(2022) 는 ‘물’과 같은 액체의 특성을 지닌 무경계 상태의 존재들이 서로의 몸을 오가며 새로운 이야기를 펼쳐내는 3D 애니메이션이다. 영상의 시작은 1914년도에 멸종한 여행비둘기 ‘마사’로 시작하는데, 여행비둘기는 한때 지구에서 가장 많았던 새로, 인간이 멸종 과정을 관찰한 최초의 동물로 알려져 있다. 도시 비둘기를 시작으로 반려 개의 몸에 본인의 신체를 결합하며 멍게, 생물종들이 되면서 장소를 바꾸며 여러 몸을 경유, 이동한다. 이처럼 작가는 혼종적 신체와 얽힘의 서사를 보여주면서 영상에서 시·공간을 자유롭게 횡단한다. 인간과 다종의 존재자들은 모두 깊숙이 연결되어 있음을 보여주는 〈액체 몸체〉는 인간과 비인간, 동물과 사람 같은 경계 짓기와 구분의 영역을 허물고 새로운 생태적 감수성과 상상력을 보여준다.

JUNG Haejung’s Liquid Bodies (2022) is a 3D animation in which entities in borderless states with a liquid, water-like quality unfold a new story while moving between one another’s bodies. The video begins with the passenger pigeon Martha, of a species that went extinct in 1914, and the passenger pigeon was once one of the most populous birds on Earth and is known as the first animal humans observed the extinction process of. Beginning with the city pigeon, the protagonist combines bodies with a pet dog and becomes a sea squirt and organism species to change locations while passing through several bodies. As such, the artist freely traverses space-time in the video while presenting a narrative of mixed bodies and entanglement. Liquid Bodies, which shows that humans and multiple species of entities are all deeply connected, collapses the domain of boundary demarcation and distinction between humans and nonhumans, and between animals and people, and exhibits a new ecological sensibility and imagination.
